All physiotherapists help people move better and live with less pain. But some conditions need deeper expertise. Specialised physiotherapists have advanced training and experience in one area of the body or one group of conditions, which means more precise assessment and more targeted treatment.
At Teamwork Physiotherapy Centre International we have four specialised physiotherapy services, all under one roof in Ntinda, Kampala.
Neuro physiotherapist
Works with people whose brain, spinal cord or nerves have been affected: stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. They use the brain's ability to rewire itself to retrain walking, balance and arm function.
Orthopaedic manual therapist
Specialises in hands-on treatment of joints, muscles and nerves, including joint mobilisation, spinal manipulation and soft tissue techniques. Particularly helpful for back pain, neck pain, sciatica and stiff joints, always combined with exercise.
Cardiopulmonary physiotherapist
Helps people recover after a heart attack or heart surgery, and supports those living with COPD, asthma and other lung conditions, with supervised exercise, breathing retraining and airway clearance.
Pelvic floor specialist
Treats bladder leakage, prolapse, pelvic pain, bowel problems and recovery after childbirth or prostate surgery, privately and respectfully, for both women and men.
Do I need a specialist or a general physiotherapist?
You do not need to decide alone. Book an assessment, and our team will make sure you see the right person. Because our physiotherapists, doctors and therapists work as one team, you can move between them without starting again.
