Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Athletic Performance

Rehabilitation for ligament tears, joint sprains and muscle injuries, plus return-to-sport testing and performance training for footballers, runners and athletes.

For an athlete, an injury is more than pain. It means missed matches, lost fitness and the worry of getting hurt again. Good sports rehabilitation does not stop when the pain goes. It rebuilds strength, control and confidence until you are ready for the demands of your sport, and it addresses the reasons the injury happened in the first place.

Our sports physiotherapy service treats everyone from school and recreational players to footballers competing at national and international level. Through our Triple Therapy programme, athletes can also access sports nutrition and sports psychology in the same place.

Injuries we treat

  • Ligament tears: ACL, MCL, PCL and ankle ligaments, with or without surgery
  • Joint sprains of the ankle, knee, wrist and shoulder
  • Muscle strains: hamstring, groin, calf and quadriceps
  • Tendon injuries: Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff and tennis elbow
  • Cartilage and meniscus injuries
  • Shin splints, stress reactions and overuse injuries
  • Back and neck injuries in sport

From injury to return to sport

Rehabilitation follows clear stages, and you only move on when you meet the criteria for the next stage.

  • Protect and calm: pain and swelling control, safe early movement
  • Restore: range of motion, muscle activation and walking or running mechanics
  • Strengthen: progressive strength, power and balance training
  • Return to running and sport-specific drills: change of direction, jumping, kicking, contact
  • Return-to-sport testing: strength comparison, hop tests and agility measures

Injury prevention and performance training

We assess movement, flexibility, strength and biomechanics to find weak links before they become injuries. Teams, clubs, academies and schools can book squad screening, warm-up programmes and injury-prevention workshops.

Sports Injury & Athletic Performance: frequently asked questions

How long does ACL rehabilitation take?

After ACL reconstruction, most athletes need around nine to twelve months before returning to football or other cutting sports. The timeline depends on meeting strength and movement targets, not just time.

Should I ice or heat a new sprain?

In the first couple of days, protect the joint, use compression and elevation and keep moving gently within comfort. Get a physiotherapy assessment early to check for ligament damage.

Do you work with football clubs and schools?

Yes. We offer team screening, injury-prevention programmes, workshops and fast-track assessment for injured players.

Can you help me improve my performance?

Yes. Strength, power, mobility and movement-efficiency training, combined with sports nutrition and sports psychology in our Triple Therapy programme, can improve performance and reduce injury risk.
