Cupping Therapy and Soft Tissue Mobilisation

Cupping, myofascial release and soft tissue mobilisation to improve blood flow, ease muscle soreness and support faster recovery.

Muscles and the fascia around them can become tight, stiff and sore after training, long hours at a desk or an injury. Soft tissue therapies help release that tension so you can move more freely and exercise more comfortably.

At Teamwork Physiotherapy Centre International, cupping and soft tissue mobilisation are used by physiotherapists as part of a rehabilitation or recovery plan, not as stand-alone cures.

Techniques we offer

  • Cupping therapy: suction cups lift the skin and underlying tissue to ease tightness and increase local blood flow
  • Myofascial release: sustained pressure and stretching to release restricted fascia
  • Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation
  • Sports and remedial massage
  • Assisted stretching

Who it helps

  • Athletes and footballers recovering from training and matches
  • Desk workers with neck, shoulder and upper back tension
  • People with muscle tightness after injury
  • Patients preparing for exercise-based rehabilitation

What to expect

Cupping usually feels like a pulling or tight sensation, not pain. It can leave round marks on the skin that fade over several days; these are expected and are not bruises from injury. We will always explain what the treatment can and cannot do, and combine it with exercise and stretching for lasting results.

Cupping & Soft Tissue Mobilisation: frequently asked questions

Do cupping marks hurt?

The marks are usually painless and fade within a few days to a week.

Is cupping suitable for everyone?

Not everyone. We avoid cupping over broken or fragile skin, in some blood-clotting problems and in certain areas during pregnancy. Your physiotherapist will check first.

How often should athletes have soft tissue therapy?

It depends on training load. Many athletes benefit from a session after heavy training weeks or matches, alongside proper recovery, sleep and nutrition.
